We are first each a sovereign human being on this planet with dominion over our own bodies. Article 3 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights acknowledges, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.” 

In recent weeks and days, however, more and more folks are being coerced and ultimately required to take a medical treatment. This, despite the fact that voluntary informed consent has been a foundational element of medical practice heretofore. And forcing a person to choose between a medical treatment and their livelihood is not a choice, it is force.

Regardless of where anyone stands on the vaccine itself, it should not be difficult to see that mandatory medical treatments constitute a fundamental and immoral violation of human rights. Medical mandates are antithetical to freedom.

If the public permits mandatory medical treatments in this moment, we open the door to a very dangerous future. One would be truly naive to think this tool would not be used mistakenly or in unforeseen ways, good intentions or bad.

We cannot allow fear to drive us down this very treacherous path of submitting our bodies, and our children’s bodies, to government or corporate control.

We must speak before it is too late. It is a moment that requires courage in the face of overwhelming messaging from the state and corporations, coupled with unprecedented censorship to prevent discourse.

We must stand together for the good, and the health, of all.  Regardless of our personal decisions, loud and clear, we must say no to mandated medical treatments.

Stand for freedom. Stand for love.

A segregated society is neither free nor healthy. 

This is a lesson taught too many times already, and yet, here we go again down this destructive and terrible path. Fear makes it all too easy to lure one down this ugly road. 

There is still time to stop it, to say no to the devastation of further segregation and all that goes with it. We must have the courage to stand against it.

In an environment drenched daily with fear, we must say no to the fear and reach instead toward our own inner intelligence and compassion. It is a matter of  survival: our own, our children’s, and for healthy and free societies around the world.

Do not be one that stands aside and watches as your brothers and sisters are shunned and segregated.  If you would be healthy and whole, stand now for love, stand for freedom.

The nation looks on with sadness and grief at the Miami-area building collapse. As each day passes, some victims are found, many more still missing.  It breaks our hearts to think of what happened to those individuals, and to think of the terrible impact on their families and friends left behind.

And yet, in the midst of this grief, as if there is not enough death and destruction, the Biden administration sees fit to launch airstrikes Sunday targeting “Iranian-backed” groups in the Iraq-Syria border region. 

According to Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, seven people on the ground were killed. This comes after February’s destruction of nine buildings by the US in Syria, killing at least 22 people, also targeting Iran-backed militias, with seven 500-pound bombs.

Iraq’s military spokesman decried the US air strikes as a “breach of sovereignty.” As if anyone should have to put that in words. 

As we embrace the terrible unfolding of grief in Miami, it should also give us all pause to consider the grief of victims and their families on the receiving end of military strong-arming around the world. So much incredible loss and grief through the years.

Let’s put a stop to such intentional death and destruction. Let’s look instead to healing, communication, and cooperation for a world in which we can all live safe and free from designed, deliberate disasters.

Stand for love. Stand for peace.

as the birds warble me awake

we deserve better

Hell, yeah. It was a breath of fresh air to see first Tulsi Gabbard and now, yes, even Donald Trump, call out and expose the supposed Covid relief bill Congress pushed through. If it wasn’t already apparent, the approval of this ‘bill’ demonstrates such open contempt for the American people that no doubt can remain in the mind of any thinking person about the breathtaking, evil corruption in our “representation.” 

The 5,000-plus pages of brazen handouts to an astonishing array of entities, both foreign and domestic, under the guise of Covid relief is beyond insulting, it is criminal. The people we’re paying in Washington need to be fired, yesterday. 

And where, by the way, was incoming Joe Biden while this reprehensible act played out? After the fact, he suggests that he’ll push for more assistance in the next bill. Sorry, Joe, but your “down payment” is a day late and a dollar short. Come on, man.

Failing an overthrow of Congress, I’d settle at this point for a clean Covid Relief Bill, with none of the outright theft and sleight of hand that constitutes the majority of what Congress just passed. This would be a bill that includes actual relief for the people. And that does not amount to any 5,000 pages, mind you. While that’s going down, let’s boot Pelosi, too, and have some real discussion on healthcare for pete’s sake.

The people. That’s us. The ones paying these cretins. The ones paying for all this corruption. Wake up. Step up. We deserve better.
